Pulsnitz

The city of Pulsnitz, which is located about 25 kilometers northeast from Dresden, ist known for its pepper cakes, blueprint and pottery. To this day, these handicrafts, which are rare in Germany, are practiced and lived. It is not for nothing that Pulsnitz is also called the gingerbread city.

Since 1558, Pulsnitzer Pfefferküchler have been baking pastries in various shapes and designs. In the gingerbread show workshop, visitors can bake and decorate their own gingerbread. The annual gingerbread market is also an absolute highlight for the whole region.

Today about 7,500 people live in Pulsnitz. Five daycare centers and several day care offers offer a comprehensive range of childcare options. Two primary schools and the secondary school ensure education close to home. High schools are located in the neighboring town of Großröhrsdorf, in Radeberg and in Kamenz.

Numerous housing offers for rent or building plots with good access are the basis for a good life in the city.

Pulsnitz lies on the Kamenz-Pirna railway line and is served by the Sachsen city railway, which takes you to Dresden Central Station in about 35 minutes.

A hike through the Pulsnitz valley and over the Keulenberg as well as a visit to the baroque palace park and the Bible Garden are worthwhile in the district of Oberuellenau.
